Say hello to my new little friend

Well, new to me anyway. The Fernandes Nomad. Picked it up pretty inexpensively off of Craigslist.

I was looking for some type of practice bass so I'd have no excuse when I travel. Pretty cool little item. 25.5" scale. Built in amp (which makes it almost as heavy as a long scale). Well balanced and comfortable to play. I took it to local jam last night. Seemed to sound distorted with a pick, and more pleasant plucked by finger but, the comments I got from people were crunch and clarity.

If i had my druthers, I'd probably remove the amp, install a built in tuner and preamp so I can play through headphones. It's probably be much lighter and make more sense as a practice instrument.
