R.I.P Phillip...

Post by cjj »

June 28, 2011 - Jan 9 2012
He was the sweetest little horse and didn't get the chance to really live.
But he did bring a lot of joy to a couple of old horse breeders who had given up on the breeding business a few years ago.
He will be missed greatly...

Don't really know what happened, 2 days ago we found him lying down unable to get up. I helped him up, he was quite wobbly for a bit, but then went to mom and had some milk and seemed OK 'til last night when he couldn't get up again. I got him up a couple of times, but he couldn't stay standing this time. The vet came out today and said it was spinal cord damage in the neck and he had lost the ability to control his legs. There was nothing they could do...
:(
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Oh that's just hard, CJ. I'm really sorry. I used to be a horse guy. I still miss my two. So I know.

It's sad when what seems stable comes to a sudden end, I have had a few pets come to a unusual conclusion.
And Phillip was a great name for a horse, Rickenbacker should do a special Horseshoe pickup in Philips honour!

CJ: I am so very sorry to hear this. I have seen these heartaches at the barn and it takes a very long while to get past them. While beautiful creatures some young horses are vulnerable to these accidents through their play. I am so glad that he was able to bring some joy to others during his sort time on earth. My thoughts will be with your during this difficult time.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
