New George Harrison app for the iPad

Post by Soulsaman »

Haven't seen it posted here yet but there's a new iPad app about George's guitar collection that looks really interesting.

Wow, that looks fantastic, and it is great that they are doing this. Wonderful from an archival standpoint. Hopefully Many others follow suit, including McCartney, Starr & Yoko

They should have taken the photos without reflections. Some of the angles have reflections causing the guitar to look almost white... and what's the informative value of that? Not well thought out, poor execution of a good idea.

I don't know if the Song List feature is supposed to be exhaustive for each guitar, if I even have my information right, or if there was a second page not visible. But I noticed that the Ric 12-string list did not show While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

WOAH, they actually break the guitars out and let someone play them?

I'm impressed by that, and seriously wish that a similar app would show up for John, Paul and Ringo's gear.

From what I've read it's quite costly for what you get... almost 10 bucks? It's an app, not even an ebook!

There is apparently an unrestricted free demo if your ipad is jailbroken.

Hi folks,

I have got the app !!
It is gorgeous, but not compatible with the iphone.
For the moment it has only a few guitars, but will be updated !
The editor of the App is Dhani Harrison !!

So long

I am also enjoying the app as well. The videos in particular are the best part I think. As for Rick content, the video of Mike Campbell playing the Rick was magical. They could have an hour of him playing it and I'd pay for it. You can really see the respect and joy he has being able to play this guitar. Dhani also did a wonderful job as well as was a great listen. It was odd hearing George's comments that he felt he could only get one type of sound out of it though. Gary Moore had great comments on George's playing style as well. Love to have seen him have the opportunity to play the guitars as well.

But more importantly, someone needs to inform Conan how to say Rickenbacker!

This app is interesting indeed. Say, Brian, which guitar(s) do(es) MC play, what does he do with/to them and what familar tunes does he play on them (ie: Heartbreakers, Beatles, improv)?
