Cool Old 360F

This morning I got to see a really neat 360F. The older gentleman said he purchased it in 1960 from a music store which had had to repossess it from the original buyer. I'm not sure of the year of manufacture, as I didn't take the liberty of asking to open it's control cavity up, but the serial number is 2R020. He recalled that the guitar cost him around $300.00. I looked this beauty over and the only flaws I could see, besides the well-worn neck finish, was a cracked lower pickguard and slight seperation of the seam near the endpin. Other than the "artwork" on the front, this guitar is all original. It even has the original grey Rick case. I stupidly passed up one of these in the late '70s (for $200 yet!) and still get a sinking feeling every time I think about it!

Very Cool. I would like to have one like it. Maybe I could stumble across the one you missed back in the late 70s. :D

Oh, no, Tony! First, he doesn't want to sell it and second, I couldn't afford it even if he did! :)

Yeah, you're right, John and Kira. It has that '50s "Evangelist Guitar Player" look to it. I could definitely see this guitar on some 1961 local black & white Sunday morning telecast :D. It just has that cool vibe! The only thing you'd need to play this baby is a mohair suit and a pompadour!

If one is mildly superstitious, one has to wonder if removing decals such as this would bring bad mojo.

Kenny, this was actually painted on by a professional sign painter. It also looks to have been on there for ages, so has a long history with the guitar.
