hey guys,
I just joined the forum. I am curious if the 2012 RIC 4003 will still have the ever so awesome walnut headstock wings.
Any comments? :D

yeah the walnut wings are the reason I want to get a FG...they look so nice when you can see them through the finish.

haha yes exactly like that. If all goes well and the world doesn't end  I'll probably try and pick up a FG 4003 around Christmas time. I should have some disposable income by then.

slightly off topic question here...do new Rics have full width inlays? I've seen quite a few pics/vids that look like they do. If so when did they start that?

Yes they do, the FWI came back in the late winter/early spring of '08.

Ah nice! I always loved the way FWI looked. I've been out of the loop for too long haha

Take a look at the NAMM 2012 thread, the last few pages has some great photos from the show and there are plenty of photos of the RIC booth.

Here are a couple of photos of my former May '08 4003.

thanks I'll check it out. And that is a great looking bass BTW. Love the 1/2" spacing...I so want to do that at some point in the future.

Full widths and Walnut Wings all the reason I bought a 2010, could we see 1/2 inch Toaster, gap teeth and Checker binding next ?, although I think the introduction of later would be just too much for the factory, we can dream though.
