This may seem like a funny question but here goes anyway, does anyone play country on a 4003 bass.If so does anyone use a pick and do you get a sound that the rest of the band likes. Thanks for any comments or advice!!!!!

Indeed, I do! A lot. It's a very versatile bass, and I usually go with a non-stereotypical Rick sound. It's not hard to do at all. But no, I don't use a pick. I don't see why you couldn't successfully, though.

I sold a MapleGlo 4001 to a player here in Seattle who played country on it with one of those big ol' felt picks. Sounded great, actually!

PS - I owned that bass for about 2 days, so I was more of a placeholder than its owner :)

I've played country on a 4001, but not a 4003. No pick, just finger style...

I just sent an e-mail to Treena to get involved on the RRF (she is a member of TB).

I play country on all of my Rickenbacker basses, but I do not use a pick. I a couple of weeks, I'll be able to post some tunes from my band's new album. All of my tracks were recorded with my Rick B-22 amp. I played a P bass on most of the tracks, but I did use my fretless 4001 on one.

I played a 4003 and a 4001V63 in a country band on the road for over a year. They work just fine for that style; and I always use a pick.

From Sir Paul to Chris Squire, whay not I think the cover a lot of tonal ground.
