Have you ever played "The Lick"?

It's amazing how much this one gets thrown into solos.

No, but I'm going to start playing it!    Why, it's just one more lick to insert into Eight Miles High. 8)

Now, does anybody know who originally came up with it?
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I certainly don't have any idea where it came from. But, for your picking and playing pleasure, here are several permutations of The Lick.

Actually, it sounds pretty neat played on a Rick 12 string.

I happen to have my JG 360/12 WB about ten feet from me as I write this. I was playing it off and on today. I will give the lick a go. :D

Edit: Yes it sounds great!

I can't recall ever playing it; interesting. Now it will probably subconsciously get stuck in my head and I'll end up playing it in everything. . . .

Maybe at the next Rick jam we can offer prizes for whomever works the lick into their playing (bass and guitar).
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

Oh I can tell you right away who's gonna win that one; Mark Miraglia just as soon as the Byrds Collective launches into Eight Miles High. 8)
