I certainly don't have any idea where it came from. But, for your picking and playing pleasure, here are several permutations of The Lick.

Actually, it sounds pretty neat played on a Rick 12 string.

I happen to have my JG 360/12 WB about ten feet from me as I write this. I was playing it off and on today. I will give the lick a go.

I can't recall ever playing it; interesting. Now it will probably subconsciously get stuck in my head and I'll end up playing it in everything. . . .
Maybe at the next Rick jam we can offer prizes for whomever works the lick into their playing (bass and guitar).
