I just pulled the trigger on an orange 5120 and my wife doesn't know it, yet.

Is it a gift for her?

You're on your own here, Jim.

Maybe she'll think Halloween is coming soon and you can disguise it as a pumpkin.

No, it isn't a gift for her. I've been drooling over this model for a long time. And I just couldn't help myself. There it was, hanging on the wall at the guitar store just mere blocks up the street from me. I only went in to get a couple of thumb picks and a cable. Honest. And there it was. And I fell in love with it.
But I think it's going to be OK. I put it on layaway.

Jim,

Beg for forgiveness...... It was a moment of weakness that you won't regret, no matter what punishment is inflicted on you.

Seems another round of Gretsch-itis is starting. Congrats!

I bought a used 6128T- 1957 reissue last weekend, arrived on Wednesday. Looks like the Harrison reissue at 1/3rd the cost.

What , tell her it's a gift for her? Then say. You don't want it? Can I have it? Might work in an alternate universe.

Just get her something she really wants... No, it won't work out even, for instance, I just bought a new toaster pickup, my wife just got a new car...

'Course, I should be good for at least a couple of new Ricks now...

As a friend once told me a lesson he learned in the Marines, "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission." I think that applies here.

Jim, repeat after me: "Honey, isn't it time we remodeled the kitchen?"

After that you're in like Flynn.
