Burns Reproduction Knobs

I ordered reproduction knobs from the 'Rickenbacker Parts Page'
http://www.the-music-connection.com/ricpart.htm
to switch out my 325C58's Stove knobs with the Burns repros. For some reason, the Burns knobs don't fit on my pots. The holes are too small. Anyone else have this issue?
Best,
-R

Hi,
i had the same problems. i just drilled them out with a 6.14 so called "Kegelsenker" . unfortunately i dont know what it is called in english, but this works. but be careful and dont drill to deep, as i did the first time, and could look through the knob !!

Kegelsenker means countersink in English. 6.14mm is 0.2417 inch.
Probably a bad batch of knobs with slightly undersized holes. The typical shaft diameter for the pots used is supposed to be 0.25 inch. You could CAREFULLY drill the knobs with a 1/4 inch drill bit and they would probably then fit. As mentioned, you need to be careful to not drill all the way through.
It would be best to do this with something like a drill press and set the depth stop so it can't go too deep. Then securely clamp the knob so it doesn't turn while drilling. This can be done with a soft jaw vice, or with a piece of rubber or leather wrapped around the knob...

Thanks to CJ for translation. yes the forces of a drillbit stuck in a hole can be great and very surprising ! E
specially if you want to drill a head stock to slightly widen a hole for tuning pegs.

Mine were tight, but I was able to press them on by lubing the pot shafts with a little Chapstik.
Although it didn't happen with mine, it did cross my mind though that I might have figured out how Lennon cracked his pick guard...
