Very sad. Aways enjoyed his music. In the 70's, his bassist, Alan Fitzgerald used Rickenbacker 4001's, mainly a Jetglo with BT.

Great picture.

I saw him more than once at Winterland back in the day. He was a great showman who obviously loved his job.

I purchased both of the Montrose LP's in the late 70's when I was in high school. I think that Ronnie Montrose was the first to do the "gear shifting" sound trick, but I could be wrong. I can't recall which song it was from. It wasn't "Bad Motor Scooter":
