from March 11-14 on business. Pretty much in the heart of the city the whole time AFAIK. Any good stuff for a musician to check out while he's there? I'm not at all familiar with California, other than an unpleasant trip involving L.A. and a Greyhound bus so I could make it to Coachella which is in the small town of Indio. In other words I know nothing about the entire rest of the state.

As Woody said, its too bad you can't be there in April when the BARC Confluence is aiming to happen....

I'm at the Intercontinental near the Powell St BART station. Nice area. Unfortunately I'm on foot and with the rain, no bike rental will be happening, so getting to Haight Ashbury seems unlikely. It's an hour's walk in a town I know little of. Anyway, I'm keeping pretty busy, so it wasn't likely to happen.

Joshua, if you want to see the Haight I could drive you out there. When will you be here?

Good idea, John. I'll try to remember to bring my camera, although the closest we'll be getting to Rickage is a visit to Haight Ashbury Music Center. He's only got a couple of hours to sightsee, otherwise I'd drag him over to the homestead. Hope the rain will be gentle tomorrow ...

Packing up now to go meet Joshua. Fortunately we have a break in the rain.

Sadly, our excursion was cancelled by last minute flight re-scheduling. Maybe next trip.

What a shame.

Kira was very gracious to offer me a quick tour of SF... I have a feeling I would have liked that very much if I had had more time. However I remain touched by her generosity. Kira, you are a very thoughtful person and I bet you would have given me more to like about SF. Next time.
