Lovely. Not what I would have associated with her.

How wonderful, a gorgeous mid 60's 360/12 hanging in a restaurant with a big ugly scrawl on it. :(

Surely it's better that someone's 'surplus guitar' is on display, where it can be seen every day,
rather than in a lock-up somewhere?

It looks all Raitt to me. Certainly a connection of which I was unaware. Now we have something to talk about.

If I could buy that guitar, I would bust out the acetone and wipe that stupid signature off for good. ;)

I just don't understand the whole concept autographs at all...

Collin, that's exactly what I thought when I saw that wonderful guitar.
What's worth more - a wonderful instrument or just some writing chemically destroying the rose - a twisted world !

Maybe she wants to be sure she gets it back when the display is done! :D

I wonder if it's even her signature? She does not strike me as being the type of person to sign a guitar that is not associated by in large with her act. Maybe a forensic expert can enlighten us?

collin...if you saw my autograph, it was so large that i left no space for my other three band mates !

and also why i used to type in caps when i first joined the forum.

i don't think it was her guitar, probably just given to her to sign so they could hang it up...sniff, sniff...never to be played again !

No one? Really? Fine, I'll say it...

Well-played, Peter!

Everything the HRC buys has proof of provenance, or they don't touch it.
They're not prepared to spend any money on fakes.
It would devalue the rest of the collection.

Is a guitar signed for an auction by a good cause a fake, as it's not really been played by the artist?

I remember on Spotify one could win a Squier signed by Michael Stipe... now THAT is a fake to me!
