"Jim Burns customized my Rick for me,what do you think?"
Would people be like...
"This makes me sad

"Where are the "oven knobs"? Put them back!"
"The Bigsby was a good idea but what did he use to install it ? A penknife and an icepick? "

I would say that it is perhaps the worst refinish job I have ever seen and for this reason I would rule out Jim Burns.

That thing has about three years' fingerprints on it, along with specialized paint enhancements like chicken grease...hard to tell if the paint job was good or just a "stage" job. I'm inclined to think the latter, judging from the brush marks that DiMarino says he saw.

I'd ask what kit is that in the background, doesn't look like Oyster Pearl.

I'd say "thank God you're John Lennon or you would have ruined the resale value!"
and also: "you need a new one, check the for sale section"

You bet I would say any of that to him.....if he were alive, i'd say it right to his face too.
That was once a beautiful 325....

I would say, "Hey John! Sell me that 325 so you can get a nice, factory finish Rick!"
Then I would have kept is as a valuable collector's item.

Nice, but what are you doing playing a Rickenbacker in a skiffle band? Everyone knows that Rickenbackers are only good for Belgian jazz.

That was the kit used at rehearsal. I think it's the same rehearsal where Aspinall had to stand in for George.
Anyway, if John were here, I'd tell him great job. It's not like it was a rare instrument or anything.
