So I made a new splitter box using a small plastic project box from Radio Shack. My other one was old and ugly. Do you guys have any ideas on how to label this box? It's just plastic but I don't want to just write on it I want it to look good. I could design something and have it die-cut but that would be too expensive for an $10 dollar box plus I don't know how durable vinyl letters would be. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

How about "Don-O-Sound"??

I'm hoping to make it look less homemade. My other one had labels like that though. After doing some research I found water slide inkjet paper that looks very promising. But since you can't print white on an inkjet printer I'll have to paint the box a different color. I'm thinking a silver metallic hammered paint with black jack labels and maybe some kind of logo in the middle. I'll post a pic when it's done.

If you shift from stereo to mono, then these are a great option. Could never see the point myself as I only play stereo, plus I prefer to have less signal loss, which happens with all those jacks and sockets. Here's mine, 3 leads as 1, soldered cable to cable heat shrunk and tank taped, bit un professional looking, but 4 years gigging it's still perfect.

Just bear in mind with all these solutions that the cable (or box) needs to be shielded, otherwise you'll be listening to some serious humming. Unfortunately, a $10 gizmo, if it is shielded, is probably going to be done so rather poorly; they're perfectly suitable, however, to decide if you like the effect before making an investment in a quality set-up.

Well since I already had the jacks wired and ready to go from my old box I just went with a new box to mount everything in. I'm just a tinkerer I don't gig or anything so a little signal loss or a bit of noise isn't a big deal to me right now.

I made one using the same Radio Shack case! I just used a silver sharpie to label the jacks.

I shielded the inside of the box with foil tape (sorry don't have a pic) and made sure everything was grounded, even the 4 screws that hold the bottom cover on. I hear no additional noise with the box. I picked it up and moved it around, passed it near the monitor, pretty much as far as the cord would reach and got nothing so I'm confident that it won't introduce any noise. Still haven't gotten the water slide decals to test yet though. I decided instead of painting the box I'm going to try using yellow ink to see if that will show up and look good on black.

No additional noise on mine either, probably as there's no break in a shielded earth.

"Bass" and "Treble"?!? How about, "Neck" and "Bridge"?
(I get a lot of bass out of that bridge p/u,and vice versa.)

I use that cable and have no issues with it.
