From my observations, sometime in '61, when the Capri body style was revised.

My old 4000s, B9143(Last bass # for '59) and B9148(Very early '60) had two.

Can't always believe what you read, but in two different Rick references I read it was introduced in '57 in the Combo 650 and 850.

Additional question:
The 325 V59 has got two rods and is made from alder, right?

No, it has one rod and is made of maple actually.

V59, not C58! (which are both discontinued, actually)

The C '58 is alder. The V '59 is maple.

That's pretty wild as none of the Capris got two.
Dave Gilmore(forumite) had an 850 for sale...
Somebody ought to ask him.....

My 60' 360 has a single truss rod.
