OK, BOYZ !!! here's a new mission ! find mr. squire's lost hole !!! somewhere between '85 and '91, this beast was done over. possibly when it was in mr. hall's possession for measurements for the cs series ??? this is the original pickguard screw hole left of the fretboard where it broke off and was relocated. any date documented pics from tours or music industry mags to narrow it down ??? AND THEY'RE OFF...

Photos from 1972/3 show the broken corner.
My brother saw Yes at a university gig few months before I went to see them on the Yes album tour and
he said Squire fell over and broke his bass.
Dont know if it was the RM though.
If it was maybe thats why it went for re-finishing and he used the 21 fretter.

we're talking between '85 and '91 for a second re-finish as the hole was still there at 90125 but not there for union. my suggestion was a possibility it was re-finished when it went in for this time period repair or when RIC was taking measurements for the cs series . do not have any close pics in the questionable timeline.

Chris did ask for 2 RIHS while at the RIC75th celebration at the HOB. Don't know if he ever got them.

The new screw must be in the pup cavity, looking at how close the original screw on other RM's is to the cavity.
