Fender Greta

Got this Fender Greta today that I think is pretty cool.

It looks like a radio made in the late 30's or early 40's but it is not plastic. The front and back are red lacquered wood as are the feet. The top is gold painted metal. It's pretty heavy for it's size.

It is only 2 watts into a 4 inch speaker but it is is still pretty loud for a bedroom amp if you dime it. It has an external speaker jack and a line out and a line in for Ipods.

When does the sound get clean? When does it start to lose it? My mother got me a Vox AC-1 in about 2002 that COULD NOT get a clean sound to save it's life, something that Dave Davies would have loved. Then it died when a transistor blew.

It probably sounded it's best just before that happened, eh?
