Handmade Rickenbacker 4003 Treble Pickup Bezel

I removed the cover of treble bezel and didn't like the space between hole and pickup, so I handmade this part.
I carved it on DM wood by hand and then painted it in black. It cost me 6 hours of work, but now I'm pretty happy.

It's not fitting perfectly, especially in the rounded and angled corners of the metal part,
but I'll do another one more accurately to fit it perfectly.

I'm new on playing bass, on Ricks, and on setting up the bass. What do you think??? Is there any better solution?

Looks perfect. The only other solution is to buy one, although i've no idea if that would be better.

Welcome Fran. It looks like nice work. Necessity is the motherhood of invention as they say. :)
It will be interesting to hear what other bass players have to say about this idea and choice of material.

Welcome to the RRF!

Nice work! As for whether there's something better, there's always these, machined out of plastic:

I don't know if they're better, but they are a lot less work...

Hi CJ Johansson, i did know about the pickoftherick bezel one, i know there are three models of it,
but i like the Do it yourself way. They are better than mine sure, but more expensive too!!!, mine cost 6 Euros,
the price of the chisel. And my rick is now personaly customiced, it worth the effort!!.
