I take it that the tuners were swapped out after the refin. Apart from that and the lost binding, I kinda like it

John, I agree. Why go to all this trouble to leave the holes? Part of the charm? :roll: Do I like it? YES and no.

If the remaining holes fit RIC keys,you could easily replace the Grovers. I really love the color scheme,and am intrigued by the combination of pickups,altho I would probably prefer a toaster in the neck position. Overall,it seems like a really nice bass for the price. If it were a dot neck,without binding,i might be looking around to find a way to get it...
