So I bought my first rick (330) a month or so ago and I love everything about it except for ONE thing. There seems to be a bow in the neck towards the treble side and the high E loves to slip off the fretboard in the middle of the neck. I took it to my tech and he cut a new nut and made the slot closer in. He also unscrewed the bridge and shifted it over to the left as far as he could. This has helped, but it's still very irritating. Has anyone ever encountered this problem with their rick and have any tips for me? Thanks!

That's just the way Rics are setup at the factory. They spread those little suckers right to the edge. I've had to tuck in the high E string on two of my three guitars (one at the nut & one at the bridge). Probably not even the whole width of the string, which is .010, but it does help. I just have to be a little bit more aware when I do pull-offs. Just like anything else, the more you play your guitar, the more you'll get used to most of its quirks. And what you can't get used to, you can always tinker with. Which is fun as well.

Yea, I know exactly what you mean...... I once had an acoustic and it was impossible to play it...The high E was always slipping off the fretboard and I had to exchange the guitar as it drove me nuts so this was a big fear of mine before buying a Ric (330 as well).....(see my previous posts on here and on the Ric forum) As it stands on the Ric, it doesn't really bother me but, like yours, it does slip off in the middle of the neck sometimes.....i.e... if I hold the first three strings on the 7th fret for example. I have gotten used to it but it can be annoying. I'm getting the guitar set up on Monday by a Tech who has been recommended to me by a forum member and I'm going to mention it to him and see what he says.I have tried other Rics in shops and this hasn't happened so I got a feeling ( I'm a technical dummy by the way ) that by setting my Ric up properly ( I will take the guide above with me ) it will be a lot better........Another thing I've noticed with mine and this may be the same with yours, is that the strings feel very flexible, as if there isn't enough tension/rigidity in them. Again, I've tried other Rics and have noticed that the strings ( same gauge Ric 10's ) don't feel as 'loose'...there's more tension in them and less liable to slip-bend off the fretboard.....Again, I could be wrong but I think the right set up will help.....

Had my set up and the Guitar tech cut a new notch in the bridge.........MUCH BETTER...doesn't slip off now at all
