my bandmates dig my Rics

I have a long history of being a gear ho and going through lots and lots of different brands of basses. I still have seven or eight basses that I am likely to take to a gig currently but my main bass has been a 4003 for the past 2-3 months. I still bring the occasional RI Jazz or Stingray in my double gig bag with my Ric, but I have found the other members of my trio have had more complimentary things to say about my bass tone since bringing the Rics. My trio is a made up of myself and two other Army Band Veterans (we all played together in the same Army Band 10 years ago) and we are acoustic guitar mainly, drums and bass. We all sing and do antyhing from The Doobie Bros, Little River Band, Train ect to Wang Chung. We will do anything you think could not be done on an acoustic guitar, bass and drums and do it well. And it appears as though the others guys have really taken a likeing to the Rics over the other basses as far as tone, presence and articulation. The drummer really digs the clarity of the bottom and the singer/guitar player likes how it blends well with his Martin. We also do a lot of 70's stuff including singer-song writer hits an the Ric really really works on those tunes.
