Ah,ha! Here we go, i knew my work PC was good for something besides work! Well,i was going to order the cd anyway,happy to hear and say it is worth the bucks. Great sounding production,really nice playing,arrangements,and vocal harmonies throughout. I'm liking this more than Hackett's last release,too.

I hear a bit of Glass Harp in Tall Ships.

Just finished with it, time to get the plastic out! Interesting to hear Chris use basses other than the Rick for most of the songs (it sounds that way, anyway). Nice to do something different.

Well,i wondered about that ( using different basses) too,Jeff,but i have to say some of the difference in the sound probably falls to the production of the recording. Both Chris's vocals and bass sounds are a bit more "incorporated" into the final mix. You can tell it is him,but the distinctiveness of both seems to be a bit more seamless. Of course this is my initial impression listening on a less than stellar computer playback system (logitech mm28). Can't wait to get the cd and fire it up on a big system!
Going for my 2nd listen..Yeah,Tall ships does especially sound non-RM,doesnt it?

Just Google Premier Guitar along with Squire & Hackett to see the nice interview they did with both fellows...Chris discusses then other basses he used. Lots of good details there.

Nice interview. I really liked the two Hackett vids; the FOF solo is one of my all time favorite guitar solos.

Listening now, it's SO good to hear Chris' voice in the new material.

"Can't Stop the Rain" is stuck in my head. First time through, I want to get the CD and put the headphones on and listen to over & over....a laptop is sadly lacking in the LOW END department for a good listen.
