On this day, 6th June 1962, The Beatles attended their first recording session at Abbey Road studios, their audition for producer George Martin and the Parlophone label.

It looks like George Martin is the same age as my wife's folks now (86). He was "just" 36 years old back in 1962. I've always pictured him as being older than that at the time, but in the Beatle's eyes he was likely an old fellow to them.
