excuse my ignorance but shouldnt the serial number on all rics from 1960 onwards have the leters on the top and the numbers on the botem of the jack plate ?

sory again but acording to info on this web sight you might be wrong about the 1966 date .
Serial Numbers all models, October 1960 to 1986.

Configuration: AA## or AA###, letters on jackplate above jack hole, numerals below jackhole.

thankyou for youre expert advice I might just have a punt at this guitar as it looked good in real life apart from the things that have been pointed out in this forum.
