The guy could play the full range - pure good to extreme evil, and was believable at all times. He also launched a bunch of other folks' careers. We lost a good one. Hey Ainge.

RIP Sheriff Taylor!
Andy Griffith hasn't gotten his full dues as an actor over the years. Despite the campiness of the Andy Griffith Show and even Matlock, he was a gifted actor and could indeed play the full range. Luckily for us he usually played a likeable, familiar character and I'd like to believe that reflected him in real life too.

And was a very funny comedian too as well as a good musician. He could indeed play the full range...

He was one of those rare all-around performers, from movies to records to TV, and from drama to comedy ... rest in peace, you will be missed.

Yes, he certainly could pick and sing. I remember Matlock fondly. I always enjoyed watching reruns of that show. RIP Andy.

He really was a versatile performer. Watch A Face in the Crowd and then No Time for Sergeants. Brilliant work from his pre-TV days. I watched a lot of reruns of his shows and always found him to be an immensely enjoyable presence.

A very talented entertainer, Broadway, movies, TV, singer/songwriter, and guitar player. He even had his own Limited Edition Martin D-18

Unlike some other stars who faked it, Andy could actually play guitar.
