I Just Had To Post This Pic Again!

Here you go, folks-the ultimate Beatles set-up! I finally aquired a Vox AC30VR for the occasional Beatles gig and wanted to show my axes off. The Gent was the first guitar I tried out on the Vox. It is a Harrisonized '65 6122 (red felts replacing black, stairstep knobs replacing kidney beans, Filter'Tron replacing Super'Tron) and it sounded fabulous! Now all I need is the chrome stand!

Nice looking Gent, and 360/12! Now be a good boy and get a Duo Jet (George used one in the early days), for some Dyna goodness!

Thanx, folks! Ellen, I'd have to have a fawn colored AC30 to display my Duojet properly, and my Jet is a year off of George's!

Nice Duo Jet! There is one the same year at my local Sam Ash, but it does not have the original pickguard, and they want too much for it. Single owner, though, and it comes with the original tweed HSC.

The pickguard is a repro on this one. I rescued this guitar from a hick who had butchered it up. The pickguard I installed was a WD replacement that they made a few years ago. The original was the smaller white nitro style which had rotted severely. This joker had tried to make a repro out of a mirror which he'd fashioned with the aid of some pliers. Then the dumbbutt superglued it over the original one. It's sharp edges made for some nice knuckle-flaying fun! There was no way to save the original, so I tossed it. I could have made an original white nitro for it, but personally, I like the larger silver version better. Looks more "George"!

There is a white one on the SA guitar, but no Gretsch logo on it.

Jeff, that may well be the original. The 1955 Duojets usually came with a smaller white guard, similiar to the Les Paul.

Oh, Ellen, that looks good enough to eat! What a beautiful, classy axe. As Gretsch's ad copy people might have said, "It looks as modern as tomorrow's jazz!" I could definitely see Mary Osborne or
Rusty Draper tearing off some hot swing on that gorgeous machine!

Bamboo Yellow and Jaguar Tan Club!!! Yikes Ellen  !

Mine is a '54 Blonde Club, early production before they switched to gold pickguard and added the first fret marker. It originally had oval button Waverly machines but now has Grover Imperials. Extra tone knob and Bigsby added plus Wilkinson roller bridge instead of the original Melita which broke. Mary Osbourne might have liked this Gretsch more than her White Falcon which she rarely played...she did pose for pics with the Falcon because of her Gretsch endorsement contract.
