Look, you can buy a mahogany seedling in Thailand for $1.95. Given the right climate and fertlizer/nutrients it will be saleable as a full grown tree in 11 years. (like 30 feet tall) Then just start cutting your guitar tops.

Cheap, cheap, cheap.

And this guy paid $1000??

Of course, you need a green thumb to go with your caloused fingers!! :lol:

This Sexauer might not be building a bad product, but from a visual point of view I think P.W.s colours are on a way higher level than just plain uniform reddish brown.

As for the wood figure, that's just wood - the end product made with it is a brown dull disappointment imo.

Bruce is a purist, finish-wise, who builds instruments of wonderful quality.

It's a small world...my shop in Sausalito was Sexauer's before I moved in a few years back. He moved up to Petaluma, closer to his home.
