I have googled and searched and can't find any measurement for the new vintage toasters. Length, Width, Height. Is there a drawing or pic anywhere with this information? How about a routing templete? So somebody give me link or please meaure yours and let me know.

I recall the cover dimensions to be 3.5 inches x 1.5 inches x 5/8 inch deep. I don't have any in my parts drawer to check this out. Hopefully those with more precise measurements will let us know.

Don't have measurements on me....but it's technically not a pickup "route" per se, it was actually cut with a forstner bit in a row!

You're going to need the pickups, anyway, so why not just buy them and measure them for better precision?

I do want to buy those pickups just having a bit of trouble with paying $450.00 for three plus shipping. The reason I want to know exact measurements is because I have a set of USA DeArmond 2K's and if they are the same foot print I could get it routed and set up until I score a decent deal on the toasters.

That makes sense, maybe you can find second hand toasters and save some money, or find '60s vintage ones for more

.
Here are the measurements I get from a current scatterwound toaster (as close as I can see and measure, anyway):
3 1/2" long
1 3/8" wide
1/2" high, from bottom of base plate to top of cover
5/16" magnets extend below bottom of base plate
Hope this helps.

The De Armond dimensions are close, but not the same.

Don't forget the corner radii, but I have no means to measure that.

Are there any scans or pics of a routing template? That would be to easy for me wouldn't it?

I can't find any searching template, routing etc. I'm sure once I get the actual toasters it will be easy enough to figure out.

You could just get some other RIC pickups like the hi gains or the HB1's since they have the same footprint and use those until you can get the toasters.

If you want to mount it to a guard, look at Pickguardian for a 4003 guard drawing, print it out 1:1, and measure the opening complete with radii. If you want to mount it into a guitar body, the 4004 bass has a rout into the wood for an HB1, same footprint. Maybe someone can trace it for you.
