Southern Ontario,Canada

Post by rickenbottom »

Being a New Guy to this forum and becoming obsessive compulsive with this Rickenbacker thing (Not that's a bad thing mind you) Just wondering if any of these Conferences and Confluences ever come up this way or even Western NY or Pennsylvania way?

The last one was ORAC.... Ontario Rickenbacker Appreciation Confluence. It was about three years back in Toronto. :D :D

Here are some pics to look at... viewtopic.php?f=15&t=388089&hilit=ORAC&start=75

Perhaps it is time to organize another one?

I'm game, being a former Canadian myself, would love to head back to the homeland for a weekend...

Think there would be any issues bringing a Rickenbacker (or two or three) over the border?

No.... You have to declare them before you leave and note the Serial Numbers on a form...

:D :D :D

If there is enough interest we should pencil in a date and I will start looking for a venue...

Say January February March of 2013???

If there's anything I can do to help out let me know. Like I said I'm new to this forum but wouldn't mind offering assistance to help with something like this.

I'm in, if it's not too far North!

2013 would give me time to get a passport.

There may be a "lesser" version for us to drive to Canada.

As far as I know a passport is only necessary for air travel. A drivers license or other form of government ID with a picture should be fine if you're driving over the boarder.

As of June 2009, this is no longer true. An "Enhanced Drivers License" that shows both citizenship and identity is acceptable, but very few U.S. states have these.

Here's a site about requirements for entry to Canada:
http://gocanada.about.com/od/canadatrav ... vel_ID.htm

Technically, Canada does not require a passport (or equivalent) to enter Canada, but the U.S. requires it to get back in...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
