A few questions...
Why does one neck have a black truss rod cover and the other have a white one?
What is with the mirrored pickguard? I'd definitely have to get rid of THAT.

Hm... I must be doing something wrong, 'cause I can't find the 'rubyglo/black hardware' 4080 anywhere at Mike Parks' site. I'll try again. If I don't succeed, someone please steer my in the right direction. Thanks.

Looks to me like the black hardware was created with an aerosol can. You can see chrome peeking out in several worn spots. No genuine black components have chrome underneath.
Actually, I did the first catalog photos of black hardware before it really existed by spraying standard parts with matte black epoxy out of a can. It's surprising how well it's worn over the years. Indeed, that first one I did was Ruby, a 620, that's currently celebrity owned.

Looks original to me. Burgundy had a very wide range of shades over the years and I've seen it this light as well as looking almost black.
Back then, burgundy was just a mix of the Fireglo and Jetglo black dye used for the color coat. Change the ratio slightly and/or spray a different depth and the whole appearance changed.

Yes, I'm aware that Burgundyglo was a mix of Fireglo & Jetglo, and that its final appearance depended on a couple of factors, however I maintain the 4080 at issue has been refinished. The instrument has been relisted, and due to the lower resolution of the new accompanying pics you can't make out the finish spray pattern conspicuously apparent on the previous set of shots of the instrument. Luckily, I have downloaded some of the original pictures. I think I'll e-mail a couple of those to you to prove my point.

Yeah, that's a tough call without looking under the pickguard or into the truss rod pocket.
However, a sunk in finish due to time in a dry climate might do that and I've also seen that effect when using "sharpening" on digital photos.
The color itself is not out of the realm of possibility, however.
