How long to acclimate Ric 450 before opening Box?

Just got my "new" '76 BG 450/12 overnighted in via UPS from Wisconsin. I've read enough on here to know that I shouldn't just rip open the box and suddenly expose her to this toxic New Jersey air! Any thoughts on proper acclimation time since it was such a short trip? My Wife is getting concerned that I just keep staring at a cardboard box!!

It's a 36 year old guitar. I wouldn't worry about weather checking.

Maybe in winter this is important, actually not, IMHO.

It's not changes in air that you need to worry about, it's rapid changes in temperature. I suspect that at this time of year, there's not a huge difference in temperature between Wisconsin, New Jersey, and all the time on the truck between the two...

Figure it this way: does it really hurt to wait? It would hurt a lot more if something does go wrong because of one's impatience.
I have always waited a full day. Always. But time of year right now, you can surely get away with opening the box up later in the afternoon. Have fun.

I was always saying that as soon as I found the right Fireglow 450/12 I'd jump on it...turns out the right one was actually Burgundy!!

That Burgundy color is gorgeous and the 450-12 looks to be in great condition !!

Just got 'er out of the box and all is well. What a wonderful sound coming out of my amp!! Maybe a trip to POTR tomorrow to pick up some new strings.
