Hello everyone, I'm new here and for some time by now I own my first Rickenbacker. It's a 4003MG '11 and it's a wonderful bass!
The only thing is i would like to switch to flats but I don't want to change/cut the nut so has anybody suggestions for nice strings in factory-like gauge, lighter or whatever? Thank you!
Here's a pic of him( sorry for the quality, I only got my phone's cam

)

Welcome Hannes!
You should try Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats, their JF344 model, made not too far from where you live.

Thank you Jeffery!
The TI's seem nice but they are made about 80km from my place but I can order them at my favourite music store ;D

Welcome to the RRF!
I've tried D'Addario chromes and LaBella Deep Talkin' Flats. I think I like the LaBella's a bit better, but I'm really more of a round wound guy...

Yeah, but they are about 7210 kilometres to my place!

And, I usually have to order them on-line, no store around here carries them.

No store within 150km to me carries instrument strings at all, everything is mail order. Of course, that's better than where I lived 3 years ago, where it was over 400km to the nearest music store...

Welcome to the Forum, Hannes!
Let us know how you like the flatwounds once you get them on the bass.

Wow, but hey guys it could be worse

There are places without even internet to order or electricity so let's think a minute for all the acoustic/double bass players with borken strings at such places!

Also thanks to you random bassman who's nicknamed after a tremendous TV series I just watched today again and I will certainly let you know my experience with the flats!
