Well , finally Tim's Dakota - beautifully carved by Yap artist Tommy Tamangmed - found its way here to Munich, thanks again Tim for this transaction, quite emontional for me. :D She got modified with golden hardware, Schaller mini lockers and a HiTek vibrato. Found a beloved home with her two other walnut sisters.
I like to share these pics with you, taken on a nice sunny Munich autumn Oktoberfest day

In general, walnut is slightly lighter than maple:

Hard Rock (sugar) Maple: 44 lb/cubic foot (20% moisture content)
Walnut (American black): 38 lb/cubic foot (20% moisture content)

Hi Alex,

Your intuition that gold accessories would improve the Manta Ric was spot on. Looks great. I will send a photo to the carver.

Thanks for finding a good home for my little RIC. I am sure it will be played and enjoyed along with the rest of your Walnut gems. :)

Best,
