Played one today at GC. I have to say I was pretty impressed. Interesting though there was one in White that I loved, but when I tried the Sunbursdt one they also had, I liked it but wasn't in love.

Also played an American P bass with stock custom shop pickups that sounded and felt like garbage.

Fenders vary A LOT, even more than Rics. I have been impressed with the MIAs I have played, not so much with the Modern Players however.
