One of my band mates turned me onto this band. I've never heard of them.

"Hey Joe" was a big hit for The Leaves in the '60s. The crowds used to make my band play it at least twice a night. We also played the second one, "He Was A Friend of Mine" (Byrds version).

The Leaves were one of the most obscure and underrated psychedelic garage bands of the 60's. My LP copies of their songs are long gone. Thanks, Jim, for posting this! 8)

Funny that both The Leaves and Love's versions of this song came via The Byrds and both bands used Gibson 12-strings rather than Ricks.
