Nut Replacement and Bridge Repacement?

I have a simple question for those here who have replaced the nut on their 12-strings to improve the string-spacing. When I had the work done on mine a year ago, I had my tech replace the nut and bridge at the same time. Is it possible to replace just the nut without replacing the bridge and renotching a new one?

That's what I did on my 340/12 when I made a new nut with wider spacing. I've never had any problems with the spacing at the bridge end, it's just the first few frets. I have a brand new, un-notched 12-saddle bridge that I bought for it, but both in terms of playing ease and intonation I haven't had a need for it and left the original 6-saddle bridge in place. My 370/12 and previous 360/12 both had 12-saddles installed by M.A. when he did the nuts. The 370 intonation improved drastically when he did it.
