This is sheer ugly. I'm sure it won't last long. Hopefully John Hall will see this and do what's nessesary. The fake TRC too.

It's in China, where they don't respect trademarks or copyrights, so nothing can be done...

I wonder why they always manage to distort the look of their copies? In any event they are rubbish.

So, since it's made overseas, would it come under the jurisdiction of the new law(if passed) regarding
re-sale? LOL!
That thing is certainly ugly...

It doesn't look right, it certainly is against the law, but how can you be sure it's "rubbish"? Some Fender copies from the "lawsuit era" were better than the real ones. And Chris Squire was seen with a counterfeit Ric... couldn't have been total rubbish if it was good enough for him.

It's funny how they go to all the lengths to get the body shape right and even the blatant TRC but they always fall flat on the pickup style. The configuration shown looks very reminiscent of the old Ibanez 'lawsuit' models. They can never quite get the hang of the lacquered fingerboard either, I suppose it's all about cost.

I can understand it may be difficult to prosecute these people, but the TRC must have a world-wide copyright I would have thought?

Pics of Squire playing a faker were posted here in the past, but since then were taken off the Syn website. IIRC it was cherry burst, bolt-on neck, blank TRC.

If the government of a particular country chooses ignore any sort of copyright or trademark violations occurring in their country, there's not much that can be done...

Lets be honest, nobody is buying this junk anyway. These sites have been around for a while, "TradeTang" is another one that always comes up espically on TalkBass, and I've never seen anyone say they've bought one or posted pictures.

It's too bad the copy isn't of something else. I always though the EB-3 arrangment for pickups was backwards.... 8)
