Pete was in Philly tonight promoting his new autobiography, and I thought he might have enough of a soft spot for a Pete Townshend Limited Edition pickguard (from my guitar # 21 of 250) to put a signature on it.....he flatly refused.
(To be fair, the pre-signing fine print said that no memorabilia would be signed, but I took a shot, anyway; nothing ventured, nothing gained)
Disappointing, but I guess he thought I would try to sell it for a profit on eBay, and I suppose I can't blame him.
Moral of the Story - if you go to a PT book signing, don't expect to get anything signed except your book!
PS - The autographed books from the NYC signing on Tuesday are selling briskly on eBay.

I'd be more excited just to have met him!
Then again, I completely don't understand the concept of autographs, especially when you have a camera in-hand.
