About a year ago I decided I finally needed to get a Strat, so I built a cheap partscaster using a neck and body from eBay plus some other bits. I really started to enjoy playing that guitar so a few weeks ago I decided to get a "real" Strat and picked up this 97' MIM Fender Deluxe Strat with a refinned Lake Placid Blue string-through Hardtail body.
I love Hardtail Strats, but it's a pretty funny scenario if you think about it. They're harder to find (espically if you want a specific color) and almost always more expensive. You have to pay Fender more money for them to not route the guitar for a trem cavity.
