This clip should put to rest all of the nonsense about how you "can't play solos on a Rickenbacker." i wish all of the naysayers could watch this clip just ONCE. It would shut them up forever!

How about the "can't play blues on a Rickenbacker" crowd?

It would apply to them, too. It should be noted that Hubert Sumlin also played Rickenbackers during the ''70s.

Great clip...
Clarence's Rickenbacker was for sale in Europe, (Germany IIRC) a few years ago. Someone here probably has a photo of it. I recently picked a early '58, 2 tone, Precision that looks exactly like the one the bass guy has...

I was just on YouTube last night to listen to another tune by Mr. Brown when I stumbled across this video. Great stuff! I was gonna post it, but then I noticed that someone beat me to it.
And all I've got to say is...Dat dude RAWKS!

Because you don't want to have to super glue your fingernails to make them last?

A lot of these guys don't use picks or fingernails, they have callouses built up so their fingertips are hard. The other guitar player in my band plays bare finger with no nails. I've never been able to get through that week or two of blisters and bleeding. I use a thumbpick and two finger picks like my teacher, Brownie McGhee.
