Well, not that weird as there isn't a Rickie in that video - just look at that maple headstock - it's some sort of electric sitar where the black body & white scratch plates make it look slightly like a Rickie.

I remember he played that instrument at the SARS concert in Toronto back in '03...and until I read this thread I'd always thought it was a Rickenbacker bantar or banjoline. I guess it helps to a) be closer than half a mile from the stage, and b) not drink so heavily in the sun.

Sorry to dig this up, but while googling pictures of Brian Jones on a Rickenbacker, I found this. It's Brian's, but still, it can go on record that Keef has at least HELD a Ric...

Go to about 4:15 on this and you can see it is the electric sitar head. Looks like a RIC PG from far way but is not when you look here:
It may be time for big John to get his "skunk works" to build ole ronnie a sitar unit of quality and delete the mail order dan! Then everybody could be right!
