I love it when folks in other bass forums question me, or anyone else as to why we have more than one Ric..... I always tell them I was not informed that there was a limit.

I really have to say that it is one of the best fretless basses I have ever owned and played. It is very easy to play in tune and has a wonderful upright like tone and still can get a middy mwah too. I just have to make sure that I totally ignore the dots on the fingerboard. If you look at them for a reference point you are screwed. The fingerboard is the most beautiful piece of wood I have ever seen on a bass....gorgeous. I love the bass.

Other than color, what differentiates the three basses on the right from each other?

I do not know why people feel the need to have others "justify" owning more than one instrument but OK...I'll play along.... (no offense to the above poster but it seems to be a popular question).
MG....tuned to Eb for my main acoustic trio gig.
FG.....tuned to E with flatwound strings for my rock gig and the occasional country and blues sub gigs I get.
JG.....tuned to E with Rotossound 66's for my main rock band gig.
I play 6-10 gigs a month in 2-3 bands and get sub work. I need a little variety in my arsenal....I just like all of my variety to say Rickenbacker on the headstock.

Get the chip off your shoulder Scott. It's a legitimate question, but why do you love it when people ask? If you're going to display your basses, then why not let others know that your a player with legitimate differences between the same model bass, instead of a collector who can't play particularly well, but thinks they're pretty.

I have to have a legitimate reason to own a bass? And does someone being a collector mean that they can't play? And as far as "displaying my basses", I am sorry, I thought this was a forum for Rickenbacker enthusiasts to share in our passion for all things Rickenbacker.
I have no chip on my shoulder "ace". I am not concerned what other people do with their money and I certainly do not feel that anyone has to justify to me or anyone else why they own something or spend their money on it.

Then don't show your basses on a public forum. You've already said you love it when people ask you why you have so many Ricks. Sounds like what you love is being defensive about them. Again, my question about how they differed was a legitimate one. What you read into it was a whole different thing.

I read only your words sir.....including those above. What offends me is the idea that someone thinks they have the right to ask someone else why they own something...that is a foreign concept to me Ace... You may think it is legitimate, I think it is rude. Feel free to put me on your ignore list Ace. I'll continue to share my passion and my photos here with the folks who are like minded.
