Hi Rick People !

Here are some videos made with my 2006 330/6 JG and two different Vox amps (Lil' Night Train / AC15-C1), they are my favourites amps when direct plugged in !

The Lil' Night Train is going with a NT112 cab', not the regular NT110…


The AC15-C1 is complete stock, think I'll soon give it the "bright cap mod"…


Feel free to comment, even if not so good ones…

I really love the Night Train!

I love the AC15 more, a lot more,high end !

Especially with an Alnico Blue speaker substituted for the Greenback! A lot lighter and easier to transport, too!

Yep,

the LNT with the NT112 cab is a combination I enjoy very much, too!
Fortunately my guitar dealer upgraded the LNT package when I bought it.

Before I read some reviews that recommended the NT112 cab nearly imperatively. - They were right.

The NT110 is a closed back cab. The NT112 is open back. A complete different world!

BTW, You should give TI flats a try using that!!!

Has anyone tried a Matchless wth a Ric?

Pretty hard to argue with a Ric and a Vox. "It's a Ric and a Vox, it's my Ric and a Vox, girl" . . . okay now I'm just being silly.

I like the Little Night Train as well - I decided on getting a Pathfinder though, due to the price difference and the fact I can't play on speaker where I live.

What's this bright cap mod, and what does it do exactly?

artisan4: I can tell you that a Matchless Lighting is wonderful with Rickenbackers! All the brightness you can stand if you want it, and very nice crunch is available. It's kind of like a Vox AC30 but maybe a bit "faster"...

Unlike older Vox, the last decade's ones have those cap on each channel input, providing more highs when played low, but… pedals doesn't work very well, especially OD/disto pedals…
It's why the best solution is to pull them off the circuit.

Oh, I am sorry! The quote function seems to work different now, or I made a mistake.

I meant that only the line out does not sound so good. It is an emulation that tries to behave like a real cabinet. I do not use it for playing straight in the computer even with headphones I avoid it. - No VOX tone.

The REAL tube amp is after a taming modification 12AU7/ 12AT7/ 12AU7 in V1/ V2 /V3 a very nice little beast. The stock setup with two 12AX7 in V1 and V2 was too "overgained" for my ears. Combined with the toasters now it offers such a sweet tone!!! And it is loud enough when the drummer does not combines his playing with exercises for bigger arms.

Also a live solution for small gigs: The cab is the monitor added with a microphone for the PA.

To work with the amp's dials is a pure joy!
