4003 body size - flight case fit

Just about to get my next 4003.

Not at home to measure my old one, but just wondering if anybody knows the body length of a 4003 bass.

I was considering one of these hard cases, which show max body size of 340mm x 510mm: (340 may be a bit snug, as a 4003 is 343mm wide, according to the Ric spec, but I'm sure 3mm can be lost in the plush lining). The price seems good, and they look the part, being tolex covered too, rather like the old 4001 cases:

Flighcase Warehouse usually sell good kit. We've used them with my band for PA cases etc, and been pleased with the products.

I had the same problem finding a case for my (now gone) 4001. I asked on here, and got some great advice, eventually I picked up a Gator case, the TSA -

They retail from about £120, but if you buy from Thomann in Germany, they were doing them for about £70-odd, worked out about £80 with the exchange rate, etc.

I used to have one of the FW cases, one of the Fender tweed style. Cheap and cheerful, but I wouldn't want to carry a £1000+ bass in it - I used it for a bit with a Squier Classic Vibe with one of m old bands.

Gator case is pretty good quality, nice and robust...and it will take a Ric! :D
