I'll be interested in checking these out, they look pretty nice.

Is there a market for them? If the vintage market is any kind of barometer for the reissues, there's not much love around for Guild electrics (which is a damn shame IMO).

I was just thinking the same thing. I feel like Westerly Starfires can be had for $1200 on a good day, and sometimes I've seen them for even less!

One interesting thing about these Starfires - they are semi-hollow, not fully hollow like they usually are.

Personally, I like the big singlecuts with the knockoff Franz pickups, and the Aristocrat. Super cool. I'm looking forward to trying these when they hit stores.

I have to say - NAMM has really done a number on my wallet already this year. I'm a Pawn Shop Bass VI in the hole, I have major GAS for a Guild now, there's a Gibson ES-335/12 debuting today(?) that I'm way into, and we STILL haven't even seen everything new yet. :(

Two Fender amps, with the little Deluxe Reverb not having any identifying features.

I wonder why they didn't show the guitar player's distortion/boost pedal? That probably had more to do with shaping his tone than the guitar.

Because they're not trying to sell amps or pedals!

Wait a second... you mean the ES-335-12 which is on the pricelist for 2013 is not on display yet at NAMM?

I personally have not seen it yet! I'll see what I can do...

In the meantime, what's the list price on it? :D

You'd think that if they're selling guitars that they'd show a video that highlights the guitar's sound rather than the pedal and the amp. That they didn't tells me that the guitar is probably nothing special.

Looks cool, but I'm picking up a hint of "cheap guitar" tone. I would also like to hear some clean sounds.

They do look nice. Guild though has always been a kind of not-Gibson, not-Gretsch, something in between. There will be a market but it must be a niche market unless they convince folks by great quality/price and a good tone. I echo the request above for more clean - or other - tones. Will be interesting to hear what store reviews will be like on YouTube!
