Treasure or junk?

Post by ricfreak »

Hi , Rose Morris owners, I purchase this fireglo beauty today from a local used guitar store.
Its condition is not the best as you can see from the photos below, but I got it anyway.
Can anyone help me with some info of this model?
All I know is that it could be a 1997SPC and the serial no. says November 1994.
Some history lesson would be greatly appreciated. :D

Store owner used a hanger with rubber which reacted with the guitar finishes. How can I get this corrected?
Any input would be wonderful.
Way too much GAS !!!

It is a K7 then... :D :D If it had been a K9 it would have been more of a dog I think.

There are two other K7 1997 models in the register - neither of them are SPC like yours though.

I would say its a player - but still a great score! :P

Congrats on another RIC.

godber wrote:Next year will be the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Rose Morris export models. So in anticipation of a wonderful new range of factory special editions to celebrate the event , lets spend a year posting pictures of these beautiful and revered instruments.

If you like we can include USA "S" models and re-issues with "f" holes of varying designs :D

So I'll start with a March 1964 Rose Morris 1998 model, in Fireglo of course, suitably surrounded by the Union Flag.

How cool is that! Now lets see what this forum has got. Enjoy
Okay Mark, here's another March '64 for ya - happy 50th!

yup, it's a belter; and, for once with one of these very early RoMo's, no covered up neck breaks....

Thanks Mark.

No, this one has been racking up some serious air miles - it's the one I flagged up in this thread:

I'm just glad it's back "home" again now....

Thanks Collin. I'm really glad that at least a few of these early '64' RoMo exports have survived in clean condition. :D

Here's a November '64, freshly refin'd. It was in a sad state when I got it, but now, good for another 50 years!

+1 that FG is about as damn perfect for the period as I've seen anywhere. Who did the work?
