A one owner July 1987 350 in Red with black hardware. Meant to be mine I guess. It was on ebay not long ago and I missed it. I was drawn to it, bad ebay pic and all. I kept thinking about it. It was up again this week and I found out it was now being sold locally so I made a call. I took a look & traded some unused Korean masonite and a Tele copy for it. The neck has had a refret and the fretboard varnish is gone, but this is how I like them. Felt a bit odd at the shop but at home I realized the A & low E strings were switched. Ahh much better now. Plays like a dream up to the 24th. I love fiber top HiGains. Man the bridge pickup burns. Surprisingly I like the standard switching on this one but I never had on my 370wb, dunno this one is just in the zone. Great with the blend. I immediately tried swapping out the black guard for a white one from the '91, didn't fit. Then tried to swap out the black for chrome pickup covers & (duh) forgot that the later ones I have are taller. I may just paint the pickguards white. Black hardware with White pickguards over the Red looked very slick actually and I usually don't go for black hardware. Looked like it meant business. The black TRC I swapped over for the white one from my Turquoise 330 which recently received tortoise pickguards. That guitar looked much better too.
Don't worry, I'm still working on my other 350 resto...just in the middle of a super busy month. Birthday after birthday after birthday...none of them mine but I ended up with a super deal. My son also gets his 1st drum set for his 4th birthday tomorrow...er now today...he's been playing since before he could walk.
