Hello all! It's been a fairly long time since I was last here on this forum, under a different forum name and I won't bother telling you who I was before 'cause I didn't really post that often. However, maybe things will be different this time as I'm retired now and have a little more free time.

I have been a RIC owner, times 6, for the past years now and have enjoyed every moment of it! My 'list' of RICs include a '67 366/12FG, '03 380LPZ, '04 620/12MB fitted with toasters, '06 360FG and my newest, a 660/6MG. A couple months ago I sold my '97 325/V59, I thought I needed to 'thin the heard out'. What a silly concept!

I have a 'barn' full of other guitars that include Fenders, Gibson's, PRS, Gretsch's, Epi's, Taylor's and a Hofner bass. Guess which one! A bunch of amps also.

I have about 45 or so years of wondering how you play these things as well. I almost have it figured out!

Anyway, I hope I can hang on a bit longer this time and contribute to this forum in someway. Nice to be here again!

Thanks, jdogric12! Unfortunately, the 'parts' (comb and stop peg) have proven to be not easily attainable. Those that are available are overpriced and you really don't know what your getting and I'm not going to shell out for an unknown. Someday I'll come across the right combination. I bought this guitar without these parts 10 years ago and have been looking off an on since.

The replacement parts from Winfield are good quality, and worth the money (overpriced? That's a $4000 guitar with the parts installed!).

Heck, no sense in having a 366/12 without the converter comb - that's part of the charm of that model.

I've bought two of his complete comb kits and they're great! Measure your soundhole/cavity depth and he'll make you a block that fits in there to hold the large retaining screw (prevents the tension of the tucked comb arm under the large retaining screw ripping a hole in the top).

Well, I have had an offer of a possible kit and I'm going to check out Winfield for the parts my 366/12 lacks. As I need the 'comb' and the bar 'stop' screw, I'll see if I can get just those from Winfield. There is a significant difference in price between the comb and kit and no mention of the screw being sold separately. So this may create a 'rock and hard spot' situation. Anyway, thanks for the welcome and the help. I hope I can get these parts soon and make my 366 whole again.

Ok this one of these ive just learned something new on the RRF moments. It started here and i went to the winfeild site
I didnt realise that the comb was radiused to match the curve of the neck and notched to hold the strings. Im so easily amused anyway just sayin....

I've got to see one of these work one day, just to see how it does what it does.
