Looks like someone redid Macca's old 4001 "bloody bass" paint job. Really neat... Just thought I'd share!

A search on this site and Google will show you at least a dozen more variations or attempts at this paintjob.

I figured it was PW's attempt, I believe I've seen the post from 2 years ago or so about him doing it.. Out of the attempts I've seen, Paul's really seems the most correct to me. It's such an odd paintjob, though you could say the same about George's strat. I'm guessing it was just a "spur of the moment" kind of thing aswell. Anyone know of any other good attempts at the paint job?

Seen it 1000 times already.
Not a fan of marring Ricks.

It's a very nice paintjob (if you're into that kinda stuff), just don't understand why people always paint the bass horn blue instead of silver.

Does that include scratches from picking? Sweat from fingers? Dust from picks?

I understand, but I wouldn't say that it's marred. To some maybe, but its mainly just customization on their part.

I tend to not read threads about something I don't care for.

Not blue. It's light gray with silver pearl. Shimmers slightly. Cool shadow makes it look blue.

I know I'm late, but you did a great job, Paul!

I'm a fan of the paint work.... but not the paint scheme. There's a reason Macca sanded it off back in the day.
(note - what's up with the horrible Beatle guitar paint jobs? Rocky looks like a 2nd grader painted it and John's J160E looked stupid IMO. Clapton & Jack Bruce's Fool-painted guitars were pretty cool though...)
